About the project

The project is a partnership between three actors: the International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH), the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MS) and the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO).

The main objective of the project is to calculate, estimate, analyse and monitor health inequalities in Brazil using the VIGITEL databases. The idea is to use selected health indicators and analyse their prevalence in subgroups of the Brazilian population in order to identify those in more need.

All knowledge produced with this project will be translated into an easy-to-understand language in order to support health managers.

Cauane’s contribution

Cauane Blumenberg acts as a data scientist being responsible for the statistical analysis of the VIGITEL databases. All VIGITEL surveys were analysed in order to provide sufficient information to assess current inequalities and also their trends.

All analyses are being conducted using Stata statistical software.
